Double K Ranch is located on the edge of the Flint Hills of Greenwood County, Kansas. It serves as a representative for the interactions between the economy and the environment. Whether it is cattle, horses, other livestock or crops, humans exploit living things for both necessity and desire. The processes used to develop the intended commodity also affect "incidental" aspects of, and living things in, the environment - though not always for the worse.
