National Park Service Map [PDF]	Great Basin National Park lies within the Great Basin Desert, one of four distinct U.S deserts, characterized by sagebrush communities. Two members of the group Gnetophyta (Joint Firs) can be found in the park. It is also home to one of the oldest living things: the bristlecone pine.
