The Okefenokee Swamp is a major wetland area supporting the Oak/Gum/Cypress forest type (predominantly cypress). The surrounding area supports the Longleaf/Slash Pine forest type. While wetlands in general will be emphasized at the Everglades and Cheyenne Bottoms, this is a better example of a wooded wetland.
